Music Scout is operated by Stan Massey Marketing (“we”, “us”), with technology services provided by Mountain Dev (High Country Dev LLC). This page explains what we collect and how we use it. The short version: we only collect what we need to run the beta, and we don’t sell your information.
What we collect
- Beta sign-up details: your name (if given), mobile phone number, and/or email address.
- Text message records: your consent, and the messages we send and receive (including STOP and HELP replies).
- Basic usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through analytics tools.
How we use it
- To send you the texts or emails you signed up for, such as live music listings and beta updates.
- To run, improve, and secure Music Scout.
- To respond when you contact us.
Text messages (SMS)
If you join the beta with your mobile number, you agree to receive up to 6 beta texts: a welcome text when you sign up, one when the beta starts, three follow-ups, and a feedback form at the end. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us operate Music Scout, such as our technology provider (Mountain Dev (High Country Dev LLC)), our text messaging provider (Twilio), and hosting, database, and analytics vendors. They may use your information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and PostHog) to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you’re in the beta and for a reasonable period afterward. Opt-out and consent records may be kept longer as required to show we honored your request.
Your choices
Reply STOP to end texts. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing support@mountaindev.com.
Children
Music Scout is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
